"Through the well attended weekly summer outdoor markets and the 12 Days of Christmas Market I have been able to meet and maintain communication with my customers and use their valuable feedback, ideas and special orders to develop and launch new collections that keep my jewellery fresh and popular with my longtime retail outlets." C. Ferland, Carlie Beads!
"The 12 Days of Christmas Market is unique and stands out among craft fairs. It presents a gathering of ‘all things handmade in the Yukon’ under one roof for 12 Days. Over and over you hear people say things like ‘I do all of my Christmas shopping here’ or ‘I love the fact that I can see something, go home and think about it, and come back on another day’ or ‘ I can come on my lunch hour or after work’. In addition, 12 Days is a fun and welcoming venue where I love to stroll, socialize and leisurely admire local art and handcrafts." K. Buerge, Poiema.
"... these markets are a vital part of our community, and of great importance to me as a small business owner. They provide me with venues to showcase my new and existing work as well as build relationships with community members who ultimately support my livelihood." L. Melnik, Artist
"When we had dairy products, our farming season extended well into the winter and we needed more than just the summer venue. Also, it [12 Days] was flexible enough that we could sell preserves and even non-farm artisan products ..." B. & S. Lendrum, Lendrum Ross Farm.
"Participating in both the weekly markets and the 12 Days of Christmas Market has allowed me low-risk opportunities to test my skills and products in real time, and made it possible to adjust quickly in response to consumer feedback. The rapid growth of my business would not have been possible in any other context." D. Turner-Davis, The Twisted Gourmet.
"Being able to put my products into a setting that reaches so many people is quite the privilege and knowing that the attendees are interested in exactly what I have to offer, is incredibly humbling. It is also an amazing low-risk location to test out new flavours without having to complete large batches and being able to connect with the clientele is of priceless value." L. Legault, The Wandering Bison.
"The 12 Days event and the summer markets provide tourists with unique items that aren't available anywhere else. These events are a great way of showcasing local talent." J. Burks.
"... the 12 Days of Christmas ... was another wonderful way to get our products ‘out there’, and at a time of year when otherwise we wouldn’t have any public exposure. It provided a real boost to our business and bottom line at a normally very quiet time of year." B. Drury, Circle D Ranch & seed saving workshop leader.
"As a senior, this has been a valuable chance for me to supplement my income as well as filling my days with meaningful activity." N. Mercier, It's Only Natural.
"Being a member has helped broaden our reach to potential customers as it offers a highly visible platform for showcasing my business. Between the summer market and 12 Days of Christmas Holiday show we have had ample opportunities to meet, greet, and educate the community about who we are and what we offer, we have sold a lot of coffee too!" M. Russo, Firebean Coffee Roasters.
"One of my favourite things to do is support local crafts people so I was excited to get a chance to attend your market. Such talented folk, such a great variety of fine work. Three cheers for all the amazing artisans and great food offerings! Hard to make choices so… some treasures for under the tree in Whitehorse and some to take home for gifting. Many thanks to all who worked so hard to make the market such a success, being proud to show off Yukon talents! Also appreciated the professional way the booths looked and were easy to access, being welcomed and not having to pay an entrance fee as show/sales often are in ON. A friendly welcome at the door, the offer of a basket to shop with and multiple cashiers all added to positively to the experience. We will hope to attend a summer market when we are back visiting! Best of 2018 to all involved!" L. Blake-Dickson, Waterloo, Ontario.
