Growing up, Jo’s family was selling local produce out of the family shop on the main floor of their home in rural Germany.  From a young age Jo became passionate about growing food, cooking with local ingredients, and supporting small family-owned businesses. Upon arriving to Whitehorse, Jo became a frequent customer at the market and jumped at the opportunity to become the Market Assistant in 2022. Jo loved working alongside the market staff and vendors and wanted to remain a part of the Fireweed Market Community. In 2023 she volunteered to join the Board and became secretary soon thereafter. When she isn’t busy in her gardens, Jo enjoys hiking, mountain biking, cross-country skiing and playing hockey.
